Maryland 2.0

I apologize for my hiatus, but I just have not been in the mood to blog. Blogging to me is supposed to be fun and a way to capture our life adventures. However, when I feel to pressured to blog, I dont like it and hence the hiatus. I wonder if it's because sometimes my blogs are long winded? Hmmm...maybe I'll need to work on that ;D Anyway, I'm back! :D And I must share with you and document our WONDERFUL trip to Maryland.

SO, John and I took a much needed vacation to Maryland at the end of October. I creatively named it 2.0 as this has been our second trip to visit Krystal and Josh! This trip did NOT disappoint by any means. In fact, I would say it's been one of our favorite trips thus far.

We started out by flying out on a Wednesday afternoon. We got to fly first class! SCORE! Thanks Aunt Vicki! It was a very nice flight indeed. haha Upon arriving to Maryland we went to Krystal and Josh's place and got to see all that they had done to their place since the last time we were there. Y'all, their place looks SO GOOD! It made me want a house super bad. haha. They have done so much work and decorating on it and it's just so cozy! They also surprised us and had their new bar area set up with taps and everything. So of course we had to have some of their beer- ON DRAFT! Super jealous! haha. Krystal and I also exchanged birthday presents and pretty much did the same thing for each other. It was really funny! She also made me a DELICIOUS pumpkin cheesecake! It's like she knows my soul or something ;D That night we ended on going out for dinner and to try a beer that had no hops- not that good. Dinner was though! The rest of the night we spent catching up! Nice relaxing night after a crazy week of work for sure!
FIRST CLASS! :D
The Kinlaw's Bar! They had Pumpkinlaw and a 90 Minutes on tap!

Thursday we got up and had a yummy breakfast, courtesy of Krystal. Then we got ready for a BIG day ahead. We had plans to tour Heavy Seas AND Dogfish Head. Heavy Seas doesnt usually have tours on Thursday, but John was able to get us a private tour. It was amazing and I am SO glad he tried! You never know until you try! We learned a lot about their beers and brewing. I also LOVE the pirate theme.  Afterwards, we hopped in the car and head to Delaware for the Dogfish tour. We were not sure if we were going to make it or not, but we did! I'm glad we risked it and it worked out for us. haha. Their tour was really interesting too. It's neat to see how different brewery's do things. After the tour and tastings we headed to the brew pub and ate some dinner and tried more of their beer. You dont get to pick what you taste at Dogfish head, so there were some we still wanted to try. We each got a different one and tried them all. After that we headed back to the Kinlaw's and hung out for the rest of the night.

Tasting different beers and hanging out

 Dogfish Head!
 The Kinlaws
Their cool tree house. Sad we couldnt go up
They were in the middle of production- the first time we've seen it! Really cool!
 All those boxes!
Brew Pub! They sat us in a very cramped area :( Later we saw they had SO many more sitting places, so I cant figure that one out. It was still fun though.

Friday was the start of Maryland Beer Week! We got up and prepped all the food for the game the next day since it was an early game and we were planning on being out late. Then we took a cab and buses down to Fell's Point. It is such a nice area! They had great deals going on, so we tried out a few different places. We meant to go back home around 9, so we could get some sleep before the game....womp womp... time escaped us and we ended up home around 1! haha. We had SUCH a great time though!!
Our Crazy Hubbies
All 4 of us! I think this is the only picture we got of just us 4 all weekend. whoops! haha
me and the best friend:D

Saturday we got up early and loaded up the car and headed to the game. We couldnt find a good place to tailgate :( There were too many Maryland fans and not enough Wolfpackers! We found a spot and set up shop anyway. We ended up having some friends join us and another solo wolfpacker who was looking for some people to hang out with. It wasnt my favorite tailgate (we were all still so tired from Friday) but we still had some fun. I love tailgating at away games because you connect with other wolfpackers and that didnt really happen here. We had some VERY yummy food that Krystal made! She made some jalapeno popper dip, mac and cheese bites, and some chopped pulled pork. John liked the dip so much that he's had me make for the last two games too. haha. After tailgating we headed to the game and it was just a crazy game! We should have lost it, but we won! It was a fun game to win. Well it was fun game for Maryland to win for us ;D. After the game we hung around to meet some of the players and got a pic with Mike Glennon!
Pretty farm on campus
He thought they were MD fans at first...haha! I love this picture!
 YAY! PACK!
Some of my favorite players all sitting together...
The excitement was intense! Look at our players on the bench...
 Final score! GO PACK!
Mike Glennon and our gang!

Sunday we kept as a lazy day. We really wanted one lazy day while we were on vacation and it was a good day to choose. We watched football all day and ate some snacks. Napped a little, and played with Bailey. Poor Bailey was worn out that night. She didnt really nap at all and she was just such a sweet little tired puppy. It was cute! We played some bocce and watched more football and made some yummy roast for dinner!
I cant wait till we live closer and can bring Carter and then they can cuddle together! ah!
Monday it was time to go home :( We packed up our stuff and headed off to the airport. When we finally got home, Carter was SO excited to see us!! We went and grabbed dinner and vegged out for a little bit.

We had SUCH an amazing trip! The company was wonderful and the weather was perfect :D  We cant wait to see you guys again soon! :D
