IT'S A......?!?!?

SWEET LITTLE BABY GIRL!!!

John and I are beyond excited! and still cant believe it! We kept saying we thought it would feel more real when we found out what we were having and we were right! It was almost automatic. LOL. Sort of like reality hit. Now, it still doesnt feel real at all sometimes, but most of the time it feels more real knowing there is a little girl growing inside of me :D We are going to have a daughter. I just cant wrap my mind around it!

So to recap our appointment and sharing of the news:

John and I got up super early on Friday June 17th and hustled out the door. We made the appointment for as early as possible because we were both just so anxious to find out! We would have found out the day I peed on a stick if we could have! HA! :D We got to the doctor right about 8am, said a little prayer for a healthy baby, and made our way in. They saw us immediately and took us straight to the ultrasound room. I was basically bouncing off the walls so excited. Our technician was very nice and we quickly got to see our little one on the screen :D The baby had hiccups!! It was PRECIOUS to see her little hiccups. I made John record it. :D At this point we still didnt know, the technician started measuring everything and checking the baby out. It was our full anatomy scan, so we knew the appointment would be a long one. We didnt mind though, just longer to look at our sweet little one. We asked the technician how likely it would be that we would find out what the sex was and she said she would make it happen. Luckily for us, little girl was very cooperative and spread her legs for us (seems like we already need to teach her manners! lol) but then she crossed her legs right away. Just long enough for us to get a good shot :D

After the ultrasound, John and I went to wait for the doctor to come in and go over all the information with us. We just sat there in shock. I mean we knew it had to be one or the other, but I dont think we grasped just how real it would feel. A girl. A precious little girl. I know we thought it was a girl, but hearing it was just so surreal. All the bows, dresses, sandals, pigtails! OMG. and TUTUS! Daddy has no idea what he is in for. Well I think he does. He's already head over heels in love with his little girl. It's really precious.

After our appointment, we had both taken the day off so we headed off to buy the ice cream for our party the next day then went home. We decided for dinner we would go out and celebrate. We both ended up having to work some (being on call in the summer doesnt take a time out! lol) but it was nice to not have to go in the office.  We kept dinner simple and went to Simple Twist (HA! didnt even mean to be funny). I got a salad with salmon on it, but they got it wrong and put chicken on it. I had recently just started to like chicken again and this set me back. I HATE being the person to send food back, but I just couldnt eat it. The waitress was SO nice though. Later I ordered a bananas foster milkshake but they didnt have bananas, she offered to go to the store for me and get some so I could have it. Obviously, I told her she couldnt do that, but it was really thoughtful. People are so nice to pregnant women!

The next day came so fast! John helped me clean up around the house and set up for our party!
Everyone could choose what they thought baby was going to be.
Mustache for boy, lips for girl!

Family and friends showed up and chose their team. Most actually chose girl :D We decided on an ice cream party since ice cream has been a favorite of mine, and what better ice cream than howling cow! NOMS! I set up an entire ice cream bar with all the toppings. Everyone came in and got ice cream. It was a lot of fun. We had silly string to announce to everyone what we were having and had the soon-to-be grandparents spray us. :D

Here's the reveal!:

It was so great to share this special day with family and friends and be able to share our great news with them all at once. So fun! After the party, a few friends hung out for the night and we grilled out. It was such a lovely day!!
