April 4th
Baby M is the size of a Southern Pecan this week!
(the app says, just without the southern twang. ha!)
All of Baby M's body parts are now intact! Now it's time to grow!! The baby's eyelids are going to fuse shut this week and stay shut for the next 4 months. Baby is also a fetus this week! His or her kidneys, liver, brain, and lungs are all starting to function on their own too! Crazy how fast this kid is already growing :D
How's Mama? TALK ABOUT HORMONES. This week they have probably been at their peak so far. WHEW-Y! Poor John. He's been taking everything in stride and has been so supportive and helpful through all my crazy hormonal outbreaks. I also lost more weight :( The morning sickness has not yet subsided, hopefully soon though. I still have all the other symptoms too- the sore boobs, complete and utter exhaustion- seriously, it's a whole new level of tired I didnt know existed, heightened smell, cramping. All the fun things. I also dont think I've mentioned the dreams yet. They started before I even knew I was preggers. It was one of the things that made me think I might be pregnant. Crazy, vivid dreams, all night every night. I also have to pee ALL. THE. TIME. I wake up at least once in the middle of the night each night. Sigh. It's crazy what hormones can do to your body.
This week: This week we went to a Hurricanes game (as guests!). We went with the Kinlaws and Klings, it was a good time. Then Friday night, I started to get ready for John's birthday fiesta! Throughout the week I did all the shopping for it- food, decorations, etc. So much fun. I was so excited all week about it. I made a taco bar with all the toppings, Mexican rice, black bean and corn salsa, and margaritas! We had about 35 people come and tons of kids. I'm pretty sure this is where the transition happens. From here on out it will only be more and more kids lol. It was SO nice to have everyone come out and celebrate John. It was so important to me for him to have a great birthday. 1) It's a BIG birthday! YAY 30! and 2) It's the last one before kids! I wanted it to be so special. We started it at 3pm. I had been cooking all morning. The power actually went out for 2 hours and gave me a panic attack, but I ended up being able to finish everything in time :D The house was super cute and I made John wear a sombrero. haha. The party finally died down about midnight. WHEW! This mama-to-be was TIRED. But the best part of it was John had an amazing time!!
