Last day at the U!

It's hard to believe that today is my last day of work at the U. WOW! Time does fly. Parts of me feel like I have been here forever while some feel like I just got here.

I will say that these past 2 1/2 years have taught me a lot. I have grown as a professional and as a person because of this job. And for that I can be thankful. The Lord put me in this position for a reason and I am grateful to Him for all that I have become because of it.

While we all know this isnt the place for me, I must say that I will definitely miss a few things about the University and the city!

  • Cuban food- oh man. probably good we wont be able to eat it whenever we want because it's so fattening, but man it's delicious!
  • Cuban Coffee or "cafe cubano"- Yummy and strong. This I will make back in NC! I just need an espresso machine :D I doubt I'll be able to make it like they do here though.
  • The weather- You really cant beat the weather here in the winter. It's perfect all the time. Now the summer that lasts 8 months with awful humidity- that I wont really miss and will still get 3 months out of the year in NC. haha. But really, who can complain about going to the beach in Feb!
  • The beaches- I love NC beaches, but there is just something amazing about the beaches here. Maybe it's because the water is clear blue? It's just gorgeous.
  • Activities- There is just always something to do!
  • 1:1 time with John- yes, I will still get that back home. But not as much. While I am beyond thrilled to have friends and family around all the time, I will miss all of the time John and I get to spend together alone right now. Our work schedules are going to be crazy when we get back too :(. We'll make it work of course, but I'll miss all the time we had here. Being able to pick up and go do whatever, whenever has been fun.
  • My staff- I have some really amazing students on my staff that have taught me a lot. It's nice to know that I have made an impact on them and they have on me.
  • Tracy- she has kept me sane the past few months. She has been a great friend and I will miss sitting in her office and gabbing about nothing for hours when we are supposed to be working ;D
  • The campus- it's gorgeous. No denying that! I'll also miss taking Carter for runs around the lake and the loop.
  • Lots of others I am sure. I'm sure I'll start to notice others as soon as I am gone too.
So much to be thankful for. So much fun that was had here. So much to look forward to. I am very thankful for all that has been given to me and all that is coming. Thank you Lord for this amazing opportunity! :D
