24 Weeks

July 18th
Oh. my. goodness. The Atlantic Puffin is so adorable. Baby matches up in size to one of these now! Baby girl's lungs are so good at breathing now that she's reached her first viability milestone! YAY! Baby M has taste buds now, which means she can taste some of the things that I eat! I plan on eating as many different kinds of foods in hopes it will help her not be so picky :D She is about 13 inches long now and weights about 1.5lbs!

How's Mama?: Tired. Again. I think I'll be tired for the next 20 years though. haha. I had to go back out of town to GA for a work emergency and my flight home got delayed again. This time I got home close to 2:30am. Yikes. I worked from home the next day, my body just couldnt do it any other way. Tuesday was a very emotional day for me too. 6 years since my daddy has been gone. It's so hard to believe. He would be over the moon excited about this little girl and I dont even get to share her with him. or the other way- I dont get to share him with her. Both are tough. This week, probably because of that, my hormones have been a little crazy. I've been a ton more emotional lately. Poor John. He's such a trooper.

I have noticed this week that my eyes are a little drier than normal and my pelvic bones hurt. It feels like I've been riding a bike for hours and just got off. Fun stuff. I'm guessing it's just my bones moving in preparation for birth. Nothing seems to help though. I bought a belly band, took a bath, have used a heating pad- nothing. Hopefully it will ease up some. It can be extremely painful! I've also not been sleeping well at all. Lots of tossing and turning. I gained a little weight this week and didnt seem to grow any. Again, I know I'm really only sharing the tough parts of pregnancy, but I promise it's awesome. The little kicks are totally worth it all and I've started to feel her more and more. It's SO neat! A little different than I thought because they are still so gentle. I call her my little dancer. She likes to dance in my belly :D Maybe she'll be a little ballerina. :D or a dancer of some kind. Let's be honest between me and John, she wont be little. haha.

How's Daddy? Awesome. He's the best. When I got home Tuesday night/Wednesday morning from my trip he knew how hard of a day I had had. He surprised me be cleaning the house, arranging a beautiful bouquet of flowers! (he picked out four different kinds and arranged him himself.), and gave me a ring :D He's been so supportive of me through all my emotions with my dad not being here, my crazy pregnancy stuff, and work. He's had a mess of his own at work, so it means even that much more. I dont deserve this man, but am thankful every day for him.

More of the lilies have bloomed and they are so pretty!!
Check out that mani! Thanks again for everything babe :D
He totally has some daddy nesting going on and has been looking a chandelier for baby girls room (oh yea, it's that serious!). He is already wrapped around this little girls finger. So tight.
This Week:
The first part of the week I spent in Athens at UGA again. It was great to be there as a support and get to see a little more of the program there. They have the best dining hall I have ever seen. It's two stories and probably has 20 stations to choose food from. AND the food is actually all really good. I got a LOT of comments from the ladies working in the dining hall about the baby. People are not shy. I got a lot of "When are you due?" or "How are you two doing?!" without anyone asking I'm if I'm actually pregnant. I guess there isnt a question anymore? I would never ask anyone- at ANY point in their pregnancy, but I guess that's just me. Most of them are nice, so it's fine. lol.

This week was our last week with Kirby! He's a sweet boy, but I'm sure he misses his parents. John actually left Wednesday morning, so luckily I got to see him for a little bit before he left, even if we were sleeping for most of it. He had to go to Asheville for work and was gone until Saturday. So it was me and the dogs. I mentioned that I stayed home on Wednesday to work from home. This also happened and was much needed:
Ice cream in the bath FTW :D

I had a dentist appointment this week too and I LOVE getting my teeth cleaned! They were super quick because they said my teeth looked great! YAY!. They also have a massage chair they turn on while they are cleaning and it was lovely.

Saturday John got home from his trip late and we kind of vegged out on the couch together. We got dinner out and watched a movie.

Sunday was girls day out! Kristian and I wanted to take Krystal out for one last girls day and pamper her before the baby came. :D Kristian made all these cute clues for Krystal to use to guess where we were going. It was so fun! We started with lunch at her place of choice, which ended up being Panera- YUM. Kristen Klingenmaier met us there and we had a great time! Next up we got manis and pedis. So relaxing! Then we had a little time before our next stop so we hit up Michaels and shopped! I love that place. Next we went and got massages! They were really good. LIke really good. I was very pleased with the lady who gave me mine. Now I want another. haha :D After our girls day, we went back to Krystal's where our guys were hanging out and Andrew had made some brisket and ribs. YUM. It was a lovely day. I definitely see more girls days in our future :D
Lunch!
 Manis/Pedis!
Love these two!

Before I skipped out for my trip to GA, John and I FINALLY posted to the Facebook world we were having a little girl :D Here was our announcement :D

23 Weeks!

July 11th
Baby Girl is the size of a Chincilla this week! She's over a foot long now and weighs about  1 1/4 pounds. Baby is starting to kick more and my app said she would start to respond to things on the outside world. I wasnt quite sure I believed this, but it's TRUE! Carter has gotten super protective of me and whenever John and I play fight, Carter goes crazy barking at him. Well we were playing around one night this week and Carter starting barking. The baby kicked every time he barked! It was SUPER cute!!

How's Mama? Tired. Very tired. I had to travel for work Sunday and Monday and my flight home Monday was delayed. I didnt get home until close to 2am. I slept in some the next day but then headed straight back to work. When we do site visits, the days are already VERY long, so I was extra super tired from my trip. My trip was great though, just really busy. I definitely got my exercise in though! Walking around campus in the GA heat is NO JOKE. I did have a little swelling from flying, but not as much as I expected. On the flight home though I had terrible Restless Leg Syndrome :(. My app said to start paying attention for Braxton-Hicks contractions too- none to report yet, but crazy they can come so early!. As far as my body, my waist and butt grew a little and I gained a little more weight. It's time to really start slowing that down. I need to really try to work out more to help with the weight control. I'm still fighting acne like a freaking teenager and overall just mostly tired.

How's Daddy? A trooper. He wins pregnancy. Again. I was craving chocolate something fierce this week and he showed up with candy bars for me. He wasnt sure what I was in the mood for, so he got a variety. I love that man. SO. MUCH. He's also been working hard this week on a fun little home project that we had happen :(
Hubby FTW!

This week:  This week was busy. One morning when I woke up, I woke up to water all over the rug in the kitchen. We are also dog sitting for some friends of ours from Miami that moved here recently- Jenni and Joel! So Carter got to hang out with Kirby again! He's actually still here, we are keeping him for 2 weeks. Anyways, I was like, it couldnt be the dogs. Kirby was in a crate (he's terrified of thunder and it stormed all night) and Carter was in the room with us. Then I looked up. and there was a HOLE IN MY CEILING. I ran and got John up and we figured out it was the HVAC. So his project all week was to figure out what was happening. Luckily, he knows a guy and was able to text him what was going on and we were able to figure out the issue, which turned out to not be a big deal at all. Thank goodness. He also got a quote on how much it would be for us to fix the Mustang top. I dont know if I've updated on it recently, but it's a hot mess. It rains in the car when it rains and it's a huge pain. The quote he got was the first quote and it was very pricey. He's still working on getting more :(
The BEST part of the week was our baby appointment! Friday afternoon we had an appointment and got to go in and listen to baby girls heartbeat! The appointment was super quick and I imagine they all will be from here on out. We were disappointed to find out that we wont have any more ultrasounds :( We love seeing her! But at this point they will only do one if something is wrong. So far so good though. My blood pressure was perfect again and everything else is going great. :D

Baby Stuff:
Diapers! I also found a great deal on Craigslist for used diapers! I went and met the woman and her sweet daughter and decided to purchase them. We now have an awesome stash, which will need to be added to some, but we put a big dent in what we needed! For really cheap too!! Krystal also found a strawberry diaper and a ladybug diaper. She showed them to me and I had to buy them. They are too precious! LOOK!

I cant wait to see her little butt in these!!

Highchair! This week included Prime Day! There were not too many great deals, but we were able to snag the highchair we wanted for a great deal! When it came in, daddy put it together :D
 Carter wanted to help!
All done! It's SO weird seeing it sit in the eat in kitchen!!
We also had a busy weekend! Saturday was Travis's surprise 30th birthday! We drove down to Greenville to celebrate. His wife threw him a bourbon themed party and it was super cute! Unfortuantely, I had to work for a lot of (yay, being on call) and then got a super bad headache. John had a great time! and I definitely still enjoyed myself :D It was great to see the Such's and spend time with friends :D

Sunday was Britt's Bridal Shower! I cant believe they are getting married in less than a month! Crazy! All the pictures that I got from someone were blurry and of course I didnt take any :( But here ya go!
Mimosa Bar!
 The snacks
 The lovely guests
The ring game
Presents!
Brittney's mom saved one of her little bonnets from when she was a baby to give her something old to wear on her wedding day. It came with a sweet little poem and was super sweet :D

 Cake!
 The Brinns
 Britt and her Moms!
 Sisters!
It was a great shower! Unfortunately, I had to leave quickly after and had to head out back to UGA for a site emergency :(. However, the shower was great and I hope Britt had a great time. :D

22 Weeks

4th of July!!
Baby Girl is the size of an American Guinea Pig this week! She's working on her physical abilities by touching everything she can- Her face, body, umbilical cord! Her inner ear is also developed so she has a sense of balance! She's now a foot tall and a WHOLE POUND!

How's Mama? I'm doing good! This week I grew A LOT in my belly and waist and gained just a little. A WHOLE pound of me now is baby! That's a nice feeling :D haha. I've noticed this week that my feet have started to swell, just a bit. Mostly when I've been on them for a very long time and it's super hot outside. Chicken MIGHT be back on the table! I had a salad with chicken in it. So fingers crossed!!! Heartburn is still hanging around, but nothing too bad.

How's Daddy? He's doing great! We were hoping things had started to slow down for him at work and while they have a little, he's still busy. Daddy also got a raise at work! I am BEYOND proud of all the hard work he's put in and that other people notice. :D BARBRI is finishing up this week, so hopefully after it's over he'll have some more free time. My Fitbit strap messed up a little, so I called to see if the company could fix it. They just sent me a new one! So Daddy has been enjoying my old one and stepping it up (literally!) ha!.

This week: It was nice to have the 4th off! We went of the Hutch's house for the day and enjoyed some good food and the pool. Carter, of course, had a great time. He loves his Uncle Hutch. It was nice to get to spend time with friends and not have to plan anything myself. While I usually LOVE to host parties, I'm a little more tired lately :D When we got home, John and I sat in the driveway and watched the fireworks. Why would we ever go anywhere when we can see a great show from the driveway?! The rest of the week was slow paced, for the most part. We are just both exhausted from life. lol.

21 Weeks

June 27th!
Baby girl is the size of a Least Weasel- SO CUTE! AH! She's about 10 1/2 inches long and weights about 3/4 of a lb- almost a whole pound! She's started to create her first poop- meconium. YAY. lol. Her skin is still see- through and she will start putting on fat soon.

How's Mama? I'm doing well. The second trimester has definitely been much easier on me! I'm still getting some headaches and even had a migraine that caused me to throw up :( It woke me up in the middle of the night it was so bad. Heartburn has been an ongoing thing also and my back has started to bother me some. I promise, I do love being pregnant though! haha. It really isn't bad at all. I still cant eat chicken. Just the thought makes me want to puke. Which really sucks because chicken is cheap and it's hard for me to keep thinking of meals to make without it. lol. Actually, when it comes to food in general- it's been a challenge. I thought I would crave a lot of foods and whatnot. While I have craved some, I've definitely had more aversions. Or I'm just apatheic about eating- even when I'm hungry. This has lead to me not wanting to make dinner at all, so we've been eating out a lot. Hopefully, it goes away! The sweets craving is still STRONG. Baby girl really has a sweet tooth! haha I've started to feel her every now and then too, which is still really cool. Definitely my favorite thing about pregnancy :D

Oh fun story- This week at work- I got on the elevator when I got to work one morning and an older co-worker that works on my floor also got on. She asked me how I was doing and then looked at my belly and goes "OMG BABY GIRL IS GETTING BIG!! ARE YOU SURE YOU ARE NOT HAVING TWINS?!" Now, let me tell you 1) this is the second time she has asked me this and 2) I was not in a good mood. So out of my mouth like word vomit came "THAT IS SUCH A RUDE QUESTION TO ASK SOMEONE. STOP ASKING ME!!" and then I proceeded to burst out and cry. She looked shocked and then trapped me on the freaking elevator and wouldnt let me off. She kept apologizing and asking if we were still friends. I had to push past her and go to the bathroom. When I came out- she was at my desk. LADY GIVE ME SOME SPACE. I mean dang. You just told me I look huge- can you please go away? Finally, she went away when she could tell I clearly wasnt interested in talking to her. Hopefully now she wont ask anyone else if they are expecting twins :D

How's Daddy? He's doing much better! Still recovering from annual meeting. He's been working really hard on our garage and attic to start getting things organized. Kind of daddy nesting, but stuff that needed to get done and we've been putting off. I'm so proud of him!

I'm really bad at taking before pictures, but it was covered in stuff, so this is a huge improvement!
He also re-floored the entire attic!!
 And built these awesome shelves!
More pictures to come once we've done a little more! :D Other than that, I swear he's developing my sense of smell, pregnancy brain, and some of my cravings :D I also keep teasing him that he's nesting. :D

This week: Was a little more chill than last week! haha. At least we were not all over the state. Well, I did have to go to Wake Forest University for a site visit and was gone Thursday and Friday, but other than that we got dinner with the Kinlaws and worked around the house some :D
