Friday Favorites!

A few days late is better than never!

1) The POLLEN IS GONE!- I should really knock on some wood. I have a hard time believing it came and went so fast, but at least I can wear my contacts and breathe normally again :D

2) Brad's Bday Outing- I mentioned last time that we celebrate Brads birthday on his actual bday but then were going to go out Friday night with friends. John and I got a few of his closest friends together and met up at Cowfish. It was DELICIOUS! Expensive, but worth every penny. It will definitely be for special occasions, but I was very satisfied with it! We were all SO full. Afterwards, everyone came over to our place to hang out. It was a good night :D

3) Mitch and Becca's Engagement Pics- They asked us to go with them and help them with the pictures. They wanted their dogs to be in them and need people to take care of the dogs while the pictures were going on. It was gorgeous! The dogs did a great job and the weather was perfect. Afterwards, we went out to Simple Twist for some yummy dinner. I cant wait to see the pictures!

4) Taxes- They ARE FINALLY DONE.

5) Spring Cleaning-  John and I got busy two Sunday's ago and really cleaned the house good. We still have PLENTY we want to do, but it was so nice to get it so clean!

6) Alpacas- I'm not sure why I'm so excited about this, but I am. On the way to Brad's house there are ALPACAS! How neat is that?

7) Thursday- this past Thursday John was out of town for work. Usually, it's Scandal night with Krystal, but we both did our own girls night. lol. It was so nice- I had leftovers so I didnt even have to make dinner and binged on Game Of Thrones season 4. We wanted to re-watch all of season 4 before starting this season. It was a very relaxing night :D

8) GAME OF THRONES- IT IS BACK! and SUCH A GOOD SHOW :D

9) Garden- John and I decided to start a garden this year! I'll give it it's own post, but it's been an adventure getting it set up and it's still in the works :D That is what we spent this past weekend doing.

I hope everyone has a great week! :D And I'll just leave this here...

Pinehurst, Birthday's, and Easter- OH MY!

Happy Friday!

See what I did there? I crack myself up :D Anyways, it's been a busy few weeks! Here's the latest :D

Pinehurst- John gets to travel for work! I think I mentioned this before. Well recently he went to Pinehurst and got to take me with him! I was able to work remotely (he had to work all day anyways). At night though we got to explore and eat at some really nice places! The company pays for him to have an appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink. It is a TON of food. So plenty for us to share! We didnt even have to spend too much money out. YAY! The first night we went to the Tavern on the property. We got there really late, but everyone is SO nice. Everyone opens doors for you, takes your bags, etc. I can see how the rich live this way. lol.
Such a neat place!
 The longest hall EVER
One of the places I worked for a little while one day
Anyway, when we got to dinner they brought out homemade chips, then we ordered wings as our appetizer. There were 10! I was already full. Then we ordered the entree that came with: French onion soup (YUM), steak, broccoli florets, and truffle fries. Dessert was white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. We shared all of it and still had PLENTY of leftovers! It was all delicious. Since we got in so late, we went back to the hotel room and chilled out. It was a really relaxing evening.

View :D
The next day, we both had to work. We ordered room service for lunch- we decided to try different wings and these were even better! And we got a burger and fries. We split it all again- more than enough food. I sat by the pool for awhile and worked- tough life :D When John's program was over that day they had a social that I went to with him. Then we went out to find a place to watch the tourney games. Pinehurst is such a neat little are and we walked to this place that had shops and a few restaurants. We tried out Drum and Quill (really neat place with live music for awhile!) and then we tried out another local place (I cant remember the name to save my life). One of his co-workers came with us and it was really nice to get to know her. Sweet lady :D. It was a VERY fun night and to top it off Carolina lost :D

Friday, we both had to work all day again. I sat outside on this big wrap around porch this time (it was raining). It was really nice, despite the rain. They had a plated lunch and co-worker we went out with the night before invited me to eat with them. Lunch was scrumptious! After the programs wrapped up, we headed home. That night we then watched our Wolfpack lose after beating #1 ranked Villanova a few nights before:( It was a very frustrating game. It was a good trip though! I am looking forward to going on more with him!
My view from "work" that day :D
 Beautiful long porch!

Johns Birthday- John is now 29!!!!! I thought he would stop making fun of my age, but nope. I think it's just going to get worse from here on out. lol. Oh well :D Tuesday the 31st was Johns big day :D When he got home from work I had decorated with some balloons and Krystal and I made him a large margarita. lol. He said that's what he wanted- and it's what he got! haha. It was Taco Tuesday so we made up some chicken tacos and played games for the rest of the night. It was a lot of fun!

The day after we got back from Pinehurst, we went over John's parents house to visit and celebrate his birthday then. We had a really relaxing day and played some games. Of course there was more steak :D

Friday after his birthday (yes we celebrate for weeks!)- It was a day of JOHN! (imagine Janice's voice from friends, lol). Most people had the day off, so I took it off. lol. We went and played disc golf with a few friends. I hadnt played in forever, so it was nice. Then when we got home Travis and Jess came to visit! They dont get to visit often because of Ty, but it was SO nice to see them. They were celebrating their anniversary so it was nice for them to come by and visit with us :D Then we invited a bunch of people over to celebrate his birthday and grill out. I got steak, burgers, and marinated some chicken to grill. I also made a few other treats to nibble on. We had a great crowd come out and had a really great day!

Sunday, we celebrated again with my family- John is one loved man! :D

Happy Birthday love of my life! I hope you have a great last year in your 20's :D May the next decade bring on many more adventures for us!

Easter- HAPPY EASTER! (a few days late!) Saturday before Easter, John and I went down to Fayetteville with his family to celebrate! I love going down there. Life just is so much simpler there. We all ate at Tabor (the family church) and pretty much the whole family was there! SO many kids now. When did that happen? lol. Anyway, after lunch we went back to the farm. The farm is seriously one of my favorite places in the world. Aunt Carolyn had buried Uncle Allen's ashes the day before and we all went to the grave site (it's on the farm) and listened as she shared some sweet words about him. They planted a Tiger Lily for him (he's a HUGE Clemson fan:D). It was really sweet. Afterwards, we of course went and got our guns and shot a few rounds. We pulled out John's shotgun and took a few shots- it needs to be cleaned really bad so it jammed up. We only got to shoot it a few times. I may or may not have fallen once because of the kickback. lol. Anyway, after that we dropped off our car at Bobby's (Johns cousin who is a mechanic, as the Tahoe needed some work)  and then headed home. We enjoyed a relaxing night together before Easter the next day!

Sunday, I got up early and cooked a bunch of food for my family. My mom, brother, and Brittney joined us. We played some games and had a great time. I made a ham (turned out really good and we still have ham), green beans, potato salad, and homemade biscuits. And of course peanut butter pie for John John's birthday :D

Afterwards, we hung out around the house and just enjoyed the rest of our 3 day weekend. :D

Happy Easter! Time with family is always fun, but it's important to remember the reason we celebrate :D

Those were the major things over the past few weeks, here are the other not-so-major things :

This one is not so awesome...

The house fire- not ours...well almost, but I'll get there in a minute. The house down the street caught on fire last week and burned down. The people who lived there, only lived there for about 4 months :( They still are not sure of the cause of the fire, maybe a cigarette not getting put out right or it could have also started in the kitchen. It's really sad when people lose everything. I cried when I saw it. I just cant imagine. :(

Then the night of John's party (the day after the house fire) Steve was grilling all the food for us. Well he's Catholic and cant eat meat on Fridays (and still made it for us!). Well he had purchased a tuna steak for himself. He turned the grill on high to burn off the meat and went inside to get the tuna.....well next thing I know, John is running inside telling me the grill is on fire. I go and look and the flames are huge! I run around looking for a fire extinguisher (we dont have one), so I ran next door like a crazy person. John was busy turning off the propane and disconnecting it and getting everything off the grill. Someone thought to bring out baking soda and that put it out. Thank goodness for quick thinking!! It was super scary. It's really scary how things like that can happy incredibly fast. Makes me VERY thankful for what I have, because it really all can be gone in a minute.

My Flowers!- I thought my pansies had all died out in the winter. After they bloomed, something came and ate them all up. Well at least I think that's what happened. One day all of the flowers were gone. Anyway, they are all blooming again! and they are pretty!!

Brad's birthday- Wednesday was Brad's birthday and we went out for Mexican! He's 30! When did we get to be so old. Yikes. Mexican was yummy and fun! Tonight I got a bunch of friends to go to Cowfish with him to celebrate again- it should be lots of fun!

Pollen- it might be the death of me this year. It's SO bad. Driving home yesterday there was just a thick yellow fog. I've never had this much of a reaction :( I didnt have any reaction until we moved back from Miami, but this year is especially worse. I am ready for it to be over!
You can see the fog. No, I wasnt being safe, but I didnt think anyone would believe me...
