Couch to 5K

It's pretty much kicking my butt. So is my supervisor. lol. I went to the gym one morning and Artie was there. I was just going to run but when I asked Artie what she was doing she was still going to 40 more minutes of cardio and lift weights. This woman is crazy! I felt so lazy that I matched her. lol And then we decided to start going together in the mornings to hold each other accountable. I am really glad that I have her holding me accountable because there are many times I want to stay in bed, but then feel bad when I know she is there waiting on me.

Our routine usually goes- get to the gym at 7am (I know SO freaking early!) and lift weights firsts. We alternate legs and arms each day. Then we do 20 minutes of cardio on one machine and then 20 more on another. We also mix it all up every now and then (for example we did stair master today).

During those 20 minute blocks I take one of those and do my couch to 5K routine. It's supposed to be 20 minutes of alternating between jogging and walking- check it out here: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml I've been doing this for awhile now- but it's SO hard! lol I am still on week 3. It's okay though because I am trying even though I loathe running.

Yesterday and today I started feeling dizzy and nauseous while I was exercising and it really worried me! I did some research and found that I probably just have low blood sugar. I dont eat before I go to the gym and I think thats my culprit! Today I had a granola bar and still got dizzy, so I think I need to add some vitamins and orange juice or something. I'll let you know how it works out :D

With everything that has been going on in my life the past few months I have not been able to lose as much weight as I had wanted to- but I have lost a total of 6lbs since I got to Miami, so at least that is something! and now I am working on it hard!

  1. Girl, what you need is some protein at breakfast. That kick-starts your metabolism and helps you lose more weight! Some carbs will also help you get through the long workout sessions.

  2. Bacon! If you want lower calories go for that turkey bacon crap...you know how I feel about that ;-) Love you!

  3. fruit is always best in the mornings. I love oatmeal in the morning, it seems to fill me up. Then have a snack or shake after your workout to keep that hunger from making you make bad choices!
